Job Description

The Specialty Coordinator works in Endoscopy assisting both physician and the RN during aforementioned specialties, transporting patients, and for maintaining appropriate regulatory and quality documentation. She/he supervises staff in the following processes: disassembling, cleaning, disinfecting, and storage of GELAB Scopes and other equipment according to prescribed procedures and aseptic techniques. She/he works in the Endoscopy area but is competent to work in other areas as an assistant if required. She/he works under supervision of the staff RN and is directly responsible to the Assistant Manager.

The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree
  • Two (2) years' experience in Endoscopy required.
  • Current Licensure in the State of Florida if LPN.
  • BLS through American Heart Association
  • Knowledge of gastroenterology procedures, instruments, equipment and supply management and decontamination of equipment with demonstrated competency,
  • Ability to read and understand the English Language
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and follow through skills required.
  • Knowledge of Sterilization and High Level Disinfection Techniques with regard to decontamination of equipment with demonstrated competency
  • Ability to read and understand the English Language
