Pharmacist

Job Description

The Pharmacist Staff is responsible for the interpretation and dispensing of medication orders including the proper handling, usage, and storage of drugs in the pharmacy. Maintains standards set by the department and translates policies and procedures into the daily operation of the pharmacy. Responsible for acting as an information resource to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug-related information and literature. Plans and organizes work schedule of supportive personnel and pharmacists, as required. Demonstrates knowledge of age-related factors needed to individualize doses as required.

The person in this position is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of science degree in pharmacy, Advanced degree preferred or enrollment in advanced degree program
• Current Florida pharmacist license required
• Basic computer skills including MS Word and the Internet
• Good communication skills
